I have a window of dry calm weather so I'm going for it on Monday. Ahead lies another 500 miles of wilderness. I believe I have one of the most challenging days riding of my motorcycling career ahead of me. Alta is 9 hours and three hundred miles away. It is the only town between Tromso and the cape. There is no accommodation due to an exhibition/festival/competion. Language problem (mine not theirs). I need to be there to sort it out. I have no option but to camp. I have the gear to do this. It may not be pleasant. Maybe Odin intends to make me work a little harder for my goal. It's OK. I'll do it, and again on the way back if I have to (and once committed I will have no choice). Thankfully I have a dorm bed close to the cape, so once I've done my flags and footprints bit, I can retreat to a warm bed for a night. I get ahead of myself though. Alta to the cape is another days challenging ride on Tuesday.
My intention after Nordkapp is the Lofoten Islands still in the Arctic. It will take me two days riding to get back down that far.
I have no possibility of blogging until I am back south of Finnmark (unless they built a MacDonnalds at the cape!!) so I'll say bye for a few days. Nearly there. Mr Paul Burrows, Press Officer. I'll text from the cape, confirmation of arrival and sitrep. Can you post a note for me again please.
PS: No accommodation in Alta. Camping is now deffinate. Possibly wild camping at that. Whatever it takes now to nail it.
